Reflections and a Look Ahead
Hello dear paper people! I wanted to take a moment to catch up on everything that has happened during the past few months and pass along some updates as well.
First of all, thank you for your patience so far this year as orders have taken a bit longer for me to process than in the past. I have had a couple of great helpers cycle through, but I am still running Cave on my own. My overall output is not as high as it was when Cave had three full-time employees and a team of interns! My priority is providing the highest quality paper for you in the timeliest manner possible. With time, I will grow the team here in Tucson. I plan on bringing on a new intern in the fall and casting the net for a production assistant. For now, I continue to be very grateful for your patience and understanding. It has been a busy year!
Along with day-to-day production, there have been some exciting events in the last several months.
In April, I attended the 2022 CODEX Foundation international book fair, a four day event at the Craneway Pavilion in Richmond, CA.
Another benefit of attending CODEX is that I finally assembled the first round of new Cave Paper swatch books. They are now available to purchase in the Shop.
Now for some announcements & updates!
To best set myself up for success for the second half of 2022, I will be closing the online Shop for the month of June. This will give me a chance to restock my inventory of finished papers and base sheets and allow me to be more efficient moving forward. I apologize for any inconvenience! All pre-existing orders will be honored and filled as quickly as possible. Swatch books and gift cards will still be available to purchase, as well.
When the Shop re-opens in July, there will be a few exciting new papers to explore. I am introducing a new natural dye to the catalog, in a variety of designs (it plays nicely with indigo!). And to continue the tradition of producing a limited paper for Cave Paper’s Tucson anniversary, I will be releasing a special second year anniversary paper as well as the new additions to the regular catalog.
Newsletter recipients will be the first to have access to the anniversary papers and any other updates :) Sign up now if you haven’t already! Last year’s anniversary papers Sunset and Desert Night went quickly.
